New Jersey Fashion Design Schools

Getting involved in the New Jersey fashion industry starts with a New Jersey fashion design school. There are three fashion design schools in New Jersey, giving you the chance to earn an Associate’s degree, a Bachelor’s degree, or a Master’s degree. While tuition costs vary significantly between schools, the average cost of tuition in the state is $14,928. There are many scholarship opportunities in New Jersey, shown by the fact that the average scholarship award in the state is $5,655.

You can expect a two-year commitment if you decide to earn an Associate’s degree. You have to complete 60 credits, both in fashion design and general education. For a Bachelor’s degree, you have to complete about 120 credits spread out over four years. Some of the classes you may take as a fashion design student include Fashion Fundamentals, Experimental Apparel Design, and History of Fashion. If you decide to continue your education and earn a Master’s degree in fashion design, plan on spending about two to three years in school.

A big fashion event in New Jersey is New Jersey Fashion Week. Fashion Week includes shows, parties, and networking events. Participating as a student can help you begin making the necessary connections to find a great fashion design job after graduation.
