North Carolina Fashion Design Schools

The coastal state of North Carolina has six different schools that offer fashion design degrees. There is one school that offers an Associate’s degree in fashion design, and five that have Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. The average cost of tuition in North Carolina is $9,127. Make sure that you have a strong application, because the average acceptance rate is 58%. In North Carolina, the average class size is 15 students. This allows you to work closely with your peers while still giving you plenty of time to work with your professor.

If you want to earn an Associate’s degree in fashion design, you can plan on spending two years completing 60 credits. Earning a Bachelor’s degree involves earning 120 to 130 credits over the course of four years. Some of the classes you may take include Textile Science, Evaluating Apparel, and Design on Textiles. After your Bachelor’s degree, you may choose to go to graduate school to earn a Master’s degree. This usually takes about two years and involves completing 30 credits.

Part of your fashion school experience should be attending Charlotte International Fashion Week. This annual event allows you to network with fashion designers all over the world, while learning about the newest fashion trends.
